Teaching

There are several opportunities to practice teaching and/or receive formal training in pedagogy at Vienna BioCenter.

• How Do You Do It? – in short HDYDI – is an informal monthly seminar series where PhD students and postdocs teach their peers about something they have become an expert in. The subject could be a specific method, technique or piece of equipment, but also a skill or a life hack that lets them thrive in science. Contact: María García Gallardo and Tara McAteer
• In January 2025, a course was organized with the University of Vienna on pedagogy and teaching statements. Participants were then certified to teach MS and BS students at the university, and some went on to do so. This program will be repeated in 2026; stay tuned for more information. Contact: Yan Sun
