To make your transition to Vienna as smooth as possible, the Vienna BioCenter Welcome Office has compiled most of the information you will need as you plan your move to Vienna and your first months here. Public transport ticket 

Through the IMP/IMBA/GMI portal you can apply for partial reimbursement of the annual ticket for public transport in Vienna. Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Please fill out the form from your respective institute. 

Tax benefits for foreign scientists & researchers relocating to Austria

Postdocs relocating to Austria could be eligible for a tax deduction (Zuzugsbegünsstigung). This can only be applied for within the first 6 months after arrival in Austria. More information can be found on the welcome office website, on the official government website, or through this info from the Medical University of Vienna.
